On-death effects and off-screen lasers are getting out of hand
Everything else in PoE2 right now is "fine, i guess?", I can deal with most of the changes and challenges. But there are a few things this patch that feel off or just frustrating:
1. On-death effects feel way more punishing than before. Most of the time they're undodgeable. You kill a pack and get chunked or even die instantly, without any chance to react. A lot of potentially one-shot mechanics also have ground markers that are very hard to see, depending on the map or your own skill effects. It's frustrating to die to something you couldn’t even see coming. 2. There are two specific monsters that are really annoying: - The flying wizard monster that fires a laser from off-screen. - The dinosaur-looking monster that also shoots a laser from off-screen. You don’t see them at all, you just get deleted. It feels cheap. 3. After killing enemies, sometimes corrupted monsters spawn. Most of them are fine, but there’s this lightning zap monster that shows up, and usually not just one, but multiple. It’s basically instant death unless you already know it’s coming. I'm not against difficulty, but these specific mechanics feel more frustrating than fair. Everything else is manageable. Just hoping these get looked at or tuned a bit. I would add that a lot of potentially one shot mechanics have marks on the ground that can be very hard to see on some maps or with some player spell effects going on. It is frustrating to die to something that you were not able to see the marker for.
