0.2 certainly got me to stop after a week when before I couldnt get enough of this game during 0.1 and had many ideas for future builds. All were destroyed by nerfs and removal of jewel slots and endgame items. Hence at level 90 the game now stops where it merely started for me during 0.1. I spent more time in the game post level 90 during 0.1 than before. In 0.2 I play until level 90 and then realize that any further progress is meaningless as there is no way to substantially improve my characters clear speed. I could farm hundreds of divines and maybe get 20% more dmg. But what for? Doesnt improve any clear speed in a relevant way. That was vastly different in 0.1. So yeah, 0.2 absolutely destroyed the game for me.

I should also mention that, 500k isn't a truly accurate representation of the number of players relative to poe1.

the reason being, there is no china server. im told as of next patch, china will have their own poe servers.

this game did not draw that many people. and a good number of my friends who played poe2 refuse to login, even for 0.2 even when not knowing what the patch offered.

a few of my friends did not even survive 1 week of poe1. and no they arent bad players. they go far in any game they play. reason? one says ggg doesn't respect player time.


direction of this game is not correct. upholding this current vision will certain lead the poe branding to certain death.

This is what happens when you turn your back on your dedicated player base. Making the game more casual friendly


Casual players don't like grinding 8 hours for a single divine orb. Casual players don't like putting things in the recombinator and have a 3% chance to not trash both items.

POE2 in its current state is not for casual players. It's not for pro-gamers either, because POE1 and POE2 are not pro-gamer games. POE2 in its current state is for forum trolls, who derive enjoyment by going on forums to find people with legitimate grievences and antagonizing them. That's where they get their dopamine hits. Not from leveling up or that sound effect when currency drops. No, the blood rushes to their loins when they see a forum thread about how someone hasn't got a single divine yet, or by someone who got one shot by an off-screen mob. That's what these players are in it for.

I'm not even convinced they play the game very much. Most of our forum trolls have private profiles and don't brag about their achievements. But my favorite trolls are the ones who admit to being between level 30 and 40.

I'm coming for you.
But this is not how the economy works.

If casuals get 10div instead of 1 div in 8 hours, it means the better players will scale just the same. if better players made 10 divs in 8 hours, its now 100 divs. in the beginning, cost of items will be 10x more, and casuals won't be able to buy anything all the same complaining why things cost 100divs. but once there's an oversupply of everything, people get fully geared sooner, and the hunt for more halts.

when items stop selling, that's also when people stop playing.

there's no easy fix. casuals just aren't good in making currency and will suffer so long as they refuse to learn.

at present, the league is already good for casuals, getting a LS build operational for t16 maps is what i'd consider really cheap.

You're getting sidetracked. The point is the POE2 is not for casual gamers, and the person who said that it was (maybe that's you, too lazy to back out of this now) has made an utterly laughable point.

EDIT: It was not you who said the really dumb thing that everyone should laugh at.
