Purple balls are doing too much damage

They almost always one shot me a smith of kitava with 75% chaos res and 3.5k life. Please check the damage of the purple balls sent from plants - not sure what the mod it is on rare mobs. There are also white mobs who attack with purple balls that do more damage than some boss attacks.
