Server Stability in EU

I want to preface this by saying that I deeply respect the complexity of what you are building with Path of Exile 2, and I understand that early access inevitably comes with its share of turbulence. However, I feel compelled to provide honest and direct feedback regarding the current server situation in Europe.

Over the past week, the game's infrastructure—particularly in the EU region—has been plagued by persistent connectivity issues, likely due to ongoing DDoS attacks. The result has been constant disconnections that not only disrupt gameplay but also lead to irreversible progression loss (e.g., lost maps and encounters). For players who continue to engage despite these setbacks, this repeated instability saps motivation and erodes trust in your ability to provide a basic level of service reliability.

This isn’t about nitpicking game balance, systems, or design decisions. This is about something far more foundational: accessibility and stability of your service. No matter how promising or well-designed a product is, it can only succeed if it is reachable and usable.

I understand mitigating DDoS attacks and ensuring resilient infrastructure is not trivial. It demands time, money, and expertise. But this is 2025. The tools, strategies, and services to safeguard against this kind of disruption do exist. Leaving your infrastructure in this state will cost you far more in player retention than any investment in proper mitigation will.

Finally, while I empathize with the amount of noise and rage the community is throwing at you right now, I urge you not to dismiss it wholesale. Beneath the frustration lies a common thread: players want to help you build something great, but we can’t do that if we can’t even stay connected.

This is not just my feedback—this is my frustration turned into words, aimed not at the game or the devs, but at the failure of providing the very foundation that allows everything else to thrive: stable, secure, and continuous access to your product.

The current state in EU is simply unacceptable and needs to be addressed—urgently.

They need to do something about these DDOS attacks, it's horrible.
i can live with it for a couple times, but this has been going on for weeks now.

I have been having a blast this season since I had more time but the crashes have been terrible ever since 0.2 launch. Everyday very unpredictable and for an hour at a time or more and losing juiced maps or near the end of trial of chaos and losing the map is very sad and the thing really souring the whole experience.

Today was the first time ive had server issues on EU. But now i cant log in without getting dced. Not even stash loads.

My ping is constantly swinging between 20ms and 200ms atm. I tried Amsterdam and Frankfurt servers. Granted, these high magnitude swings are an exception, but the general connection quality with the PoE2 servers has been very bad from the beginning. How is this acceptable in 2025? The last time I experienced something like this was in the mid 2000s.

Very bad gaming experience. Due to server issues I lost almost closed node atlas points, where I was going for a long time. Then, a very valuable map was rolled back, I lost loot and a lot of exp, it was a waystone for exp and a very rich map. Maybe the node and waystone were rolled back too, so I could try again? No. The node lost all properties, expensive waystone disappeared. And finally, I lost T3 breach stone. On SSF I can't buy a new one, this is only the third stone that I collected since the beginning of the league due to bad shard drops. And I lost it just because of a disconnect, not in combat. Very bad gaming experience. No fun, no loot, no progression. I only found two Greater Jeweller's Orbs in two weeks of daily play. Not a single Perfect Jeweller's Orb, of course. I have 85 Lesser, because all the time I farmed a lot of "Grass" nodes with "Local Knowledge" point in the atlas. I can't sell or reforge lessers into great or perfect, I can only throw them away. Players' suffering is the New Vision of PoE2? I just don't want to continue. I didn't leave poE2 for a game that keeps a good online now, sad mistake.
