Game freeze and reload

Hi,

so from the start of the patch till now, once every maybe 30 minutes, the game freezes for about 15 seconds. It then reloads the screen (as if loading in from another map) and even the mini-map is reset. When it happens I can still press escape to pause the game but nothing else works. I can still hear the sounds too.

Its like I just loaded a new map but with the same everything else. Nothing different, except I have to rediscover my map.

I don't know if anyone else is getting something similar. I am using directX 12. I tried Vulkan and it does the same thing. I tried using different graphics settings, like removing Nvidia Reflex and so on. Nothing seems to work.

Anyone else?

Yes, i think everyone has this bug.
It´s really annoying that the minimap resets so that the discovered areas isnt viewable anymore.
I use the minimap to keep track how much of the map i have cleared so this really takes away the pleasure of the game and the gaming experience.
I really hope they fix this soon.
I had the same issue and tested a bit (and still testing).
My current result is, that when i set fps foreground cap to 30, the freezes disapear. And chaning just that back to 60, the freezes came back.

Got some good news.

This is a well-known bug to GGG. In the youtube below, GGG's Jonathan discuss its nature, their efforts, and where it is now.

http://youtube.com/watch?t=6487&v=LtHF35GOZhw&feature=youtu.be

He mentions it began around Nvidia driver 560. For the last couple hours, I've been running 560.81 NVidia drivers and the issue is gone.

Some notes:

- Whenever you work with video drivers, use the 3rd-party DDU tool in Windows Safe Mode to fully remove the prior Nvidia driver. (Nvidia's "clean installation" during a driver install leaves things behind.)

https://www.wagnardsoft.com/display-driver-uninstaller-ddu

- Delete the PoE2 shader cache folders as well. This will result in initial delay when you resume as the shaders rebuild.

Windows+R, "%appdata%\Path of Exile 2\"
Delete the folders in the shader folder, but not the folder itself

I cannot explain:

- Why does GGG prompt you to update your drivers while simultaneously knowing this causes a severe issue?

- I count 30+ Nvidia driver updates and hotfixes since 560.81 and the issue persists. It sounds like GGG has not convinced NVidia there's a problem?

- Is it possible that no other game has had this issue and worked with NVidia to solve it?
