Trade is just SO FRUSTRATING!

If anything is going to make me switch over to LE's new season it is going to be this contemptable trade system. The intention to give sellers maximum control is commendable, but it is at the utter detriment of the game itself.

My most recent 25 trade attempts were just ignored. The items weren't sold to someone else, the seller didn't reprice them, nor were the sellers busy in a map. (I friended them to check.) They were just chilling in their hideouts, some clearly active by changing locations, but none willing to sell the items they have up for sale.

My most recent 50 trade attempts did see 3 users reprice, one bumping the price by 5 ex after each trade request. 2 others appeared to sell their items or at least take them off sale. The rest just ignored the trade requests.

We need an automated system to handle transactions. It doesn't need to be the only system, but if it were an option, my guess is that a majority of users would use it. Both buyers and sellers would benefit because they would be completing trade deals that would otherwise not occur. Sellers could have a constant stream of income from low priority items, and retain full control of their more valuable wares.

If not this, give us something else. Nearly anything would be better than what we have today.

The more I integrate consistent trading into my gameplay, the more I see the value in it. There's no other way to achieve the massive DPS/DEF jumps you get from just buying new gear.

Unfortunately it comes at the cost of every other gear system in the game. It essentially renders crafting(lol), loot drops, and vendor selections pointless 99% of the time.

Automating it would be nice. I've started selling more and more to try and pad my stash, and to your point about people not responding, I sort of understand why. Initially selling feels good. you get good currency for items you dont want. I made a ton of regals already this league by just selling rings/amulets that I find. I have a lot for sale. but it's at the point where unless someone is trying to buy a higher priced item from me, it doesn't feel worth the hassle to stop what im doing and portal out just to sell a ring for a regal or 2.

It gets annoying as a seller, and it's even worse for the buyer who actually really wants the item.

Hypocritical for sure, because sometimes i'll ignore someone messaging me about a cheap item, and then turn around 15 min later and get pissed that the 10 people I just messaged for a new weapon I need aren't responding.... sucks on both ends of the spectrum.

make a fkn Auction House and call it a day.

the trade system is ruled, and has ben ruled by asian dupers and east european hackers.

you can never get a correct price for items-- they are all infalted 1000%.

a decent level 38 spear right now goes for 100s of divines and we arew not even 2 weeks in, or close to 2 weeks.

its emabarrassing that hte devs let this continue
Last season I was where you are in this one, selling mostly rings and amulets. While some of them were decent, the majority were priced with the hopes that someone could make use of them rather than vendoring for gold I didn't need.

The new portal approach will make choosing to leave a map to sell something less costly, but like you point out, it can be difficult to pull away from something you are working on to sell something that isn't ultimately that valuable. Maybe you do it once, or twice in a map, but beyond that you either ignore or turn off whispers. Then when you reach out after getting back to your hideout, the majority of the time the buyers ignore you in turn. (as they should)

This is just a lousy system, and clearly there is a reason the majority of game developers don't take this approach. I think the last time I played a game that required both sides to interact was EQ, when it first came out. If the game wasn't so atrocious initially, I might have experienced this type of trade with Fallout 76, but even they could see the writing on the wall and moved to an automated system.

Is great , but on this state is like Life Time Job.
Current state of trade is a massive security vulnerability. Saw a video on it recently and was an interesting viewpoint. Having a third party website that requires you to enter your login details opens the consumer to fraud and data theft, in the case of a consumer having their bank details stolen by the game requiring third party resources one could argue ggg would be liable.
Again not my opinion, just in a video I saw from a security developer.
Trade is horrible, especially on console and pretty much needing a second device to manage the site. If your whispers are not completely ignored, you get a reply asking for way more than what the item is listed for. I spent too much time messing with it and getting zero results... I am starting to feel like this is the theme for the entire game.
If GGG wants to have their cake and eat it too, this could be achieved so simply by allowing for automatic sale of items listed for under 10 exalt. It would encourage people to sell things for cheaper as a side effect which is nice for new players and wouldn't waste their time exiting maps to sell off garbage, losing profit / hour essentially just to help some player on the other side of the world that they've never met and dont care about. It's quite rare that something is listed for a divine or more and the seller doesn't reply instantly, unless they are actually AFK
