POE 2 “Ascendancy Quest Stuck – Can’t speak to Delwyn (Beta)”
I’m currently stuck on the quest “The Hunt Begins” with the objective “Speak to Delwyn”.
- My character is in the correct area (Grelwood) - Delwyn is visible and interactable, but he doesn’t offer any quest dialogue - The quest remains active with no progression - The Ascendancy area is visible in the passive tree (Jägerin / Huntress), but I have no ascendancy points - I also have a Dschinn-Barya trial item in my inventory but haven’t been able to start the Sekhema Trial yet Steps I've tried: - Logging out and back in - Changing zones / resetting instance - Clicking every dialogue option with Delwyn **Bug report reference number:** [980.909.596] Please let me know if this can be resolved or if miss a point. PoE 2 - Early Access Bug Reports
Ascendancy Quest is not related to Delwyn. Not sure about Delwyn's quest, you will meet him later with an Azmeri wisp, touch the wisp, follow him, kill the possessed rare monster at the end and talk to Delwyn. To get Ascendancy you need to kill Balbala in the Traitor's Passage in Act 2, get the quest Balbala's Barya from him and talk to Zarka. Then Trial of Sekhemas location will open on the map. Move there by caravan. |

Thanks for your reply!
I initially thought Delwyn’s quest and the one involving Zarka were part of the same progression, since I also seem to be stuck on the "Ascent of Power" quest. In Act 2, I have that quest open, but Zarka currently does not show any quest icon or available dialogue options. I'm already in Act 3 and was hoping the issue might resolve itself by progressing further, but unfortunately, it hasn’t. Now I’ve noticed something that might be related: I actually do not have Balbala’s Barya in my inventory, even though the quest is already telling me to return to Zarka. As far as I understand, that step should only appear after defeating Balbala and receiving the item. I’ll go back to Traitor’s Passage and pay Balbala another visit to see if the encounter can still be completed properly. I’ll update this thread once I’ve checked it out. |

I went back to Traitor’s Passage and was able to defeat Balbala again. This time, I received Balbala’s Barya, and Zarka now properly offers the next quest step.
It seems like the quest had advanced to the “Return to Zarka” stage without giving me the required item, which caused the progression to break. Just a heads-up: the quest text can be quite misleading in this case. It implies that the Balbala step was already completed, even though the item was never awarded. This might confuse other players as well. Thanks again for the help – I’m back on track now! |
