Act3 Jiquni's Machinarium, bypassed small soul core door

I gathered my soulcores prior to activating the stone alters.

I did the boss, waypointed to storage room then waypointed to the stone alterthat lets you into the sanctum.

But when I waypointed, I came out on the wrong side of the door. stone alter is not activated. I teleported to town, thinking i would run back and open the door (didn't was another bug cause i didn't open the door via stone alter). but I dropped the soul cores by my portal, on the wrong side of door.
