Support gem "Splinter" has no effect when used with "Sunder".

It's not breaking any armor.

It's not breaking any armor.

Sunder is a Payoff skill that interacts with Fully Broken Armour. Due to this, it cannot break armour.

GGG should probably make supports that only contribute towards a debuff not socketable in skills that cannot inflict that debuff because they consume it.

It is not clear to me at all why sunder being able to consume fully broken armor should prevent it from breaking armor. In fact skills consuming fully broken armor is more of a downside in my experience, I'd rather keep the armor broken.

The only reason I was using sunder in the first place was because I needed to hit enemies standing in 24/7 AoE spam without getting hit myself (trial of the sekhemas), so there really is no practical way I could break armor for a 1-2 combo.

Well whatever, I'm playing lightning spear now like most everyone else, no issues at all there it works like a charm, does more damage, has much better coverage, activates much faster, doesn't care about armor, and doesn't prevent me from moving.

Good luck with making a physical, stationary, 2 second cast time melee skill with the extra downside of removing broken armor *and* being unable to break armor desirable by comparison lol.

Let's make it clear then: In PoE2, ANYTHING that can consume something on its own (i.e. no weird unique needed) is a Payoff skill (and should have the tag). All Payoff skills cannot cause the thing they consume. This is the rule, not the exception. If in the future, this rule is broken, it will be through an exception.
