Huntress Parry, why no just in time parry? Feels bad
So the Huntress Parry mechanic. It works as far is I've tested by holding a key until an attack hits that would have hit and then it parries (only if properly facing the direction of the monster attacking). If you happen not to face the correct monster at least 40% of the time it doesn't parry. Which makes you reset and try to get another.
I've been able to adjust and get better at this, however I have a bigger issue with the entire mechanic. For monsters I've memorized attack patterns. Even if I think through an entire setup and rush into a mob to force an attack then try to Parry just before said attack it works 0% of the time. (unless you hold down the parry button before even approaching said pack) This throws the entire battle flow off. It should feel smooth as butter. It feels like a rusty clunker. Not sure what else to say. This entire thing (managing Parry, retreat, spear, bleed) could be so sick. But with the lack luster parry atm it isn't. Hope you can fix it and continue to make non 1 button builds. Mawx Last edited by Mawx1#1310 on Apr 16, 2025, 6:36:24 PM Last bumped on Apr 16, 2025, 8:33:58 PM

I think parry just isn't good. It slows you down while holding it. The debuff is only on one mob, maybe if you get lucky you get two. It doesn't give you any defensive protections, doesn't work against aoe. Doesn't help against mobs attacking behind you.
For a extra 50% damage, it's a lot of work and risk. Its not worth it. Last edited by darrenrob82#3531 on Apr 16, 2025, 7:16:09 PM

EXACTLY.
If they want parry to be cool, it should be powerful when used just before being struck, and lackluster when you just hold it down. |

After thinking about parry should just give you the frenzy charge instead of a debuff you use with disengage to get the frenzy charge.
