Orb of Alchemy recipe

Am I to understand you need to items with the same base type AND suffix? ( ex: 2x regal scepter of the doohicky?
I've played a Templar to 55, and now I'm on a 41 Shadow, and I've filled up 7 tabs of rares. Not one of them has the same 2 types. Last edited by DamageIncorporated on Jul 5, 2012, 7:31:39 PM

The base is unimportant for this recipe. As long as the name is the exact same.
-Helms and Chestpieces both share the "Casinet" affix, so if I found a rusted helm and a plate vest with the names "Iron Casinet" which is possible on both items, then they will vendor together for an Orb of Alchemy. Unavailable Unavailable Those 2 would make an alchemy. There's a convenient Chrome extension right here on the forum that automatically searches your stash for combinations. TehHammer is not a crime!

Also I have found if you are collecting all rares you will need roughly 15 stash tabs of space before you start to occasionally get matches for the alchemy orb recipe. If you are only saving rings/amulets/daggers/wands/helms/boots then you will only need about 7 stash tabs of space.

I strongly suggest not collecting all rares. Just collecting defensive items is a very efficient way of farming Alchs/Regals. If you are short on stash pages, Chests/Helms/Shields is a good way to go (as boots/gloves have a lot of implicit names that you won't see on other armor types, i.e. Cheetah's, Grasp, Grip, etc.).
