Weapon attack and ideas for alternative attack

Back in the days of PoE2 development and marketing time, Jonathan and Mark spoke about the weapon type base attack. They talked about the possibility to power-attack and normal-attack.

I think this could resolve a huge problem in PoE2.

First of all, having multiple animations for attacks we can enhanced via support gems is cool, even if it's not filled with abundant visuals effects, it could still be an opportunity to be a playstyle on it's own if people are willing to invest in making it viable.

Secondly, it could be a bridge between the actual ''DPS skills'' and fluent gameplay. What I mean by that, is that right now, some skills are overwhelmingly underpowered and being able to spam it doesn't help it either. If though, the damage would be cranked up, but the cadence of usage lowered down, while having normal attacks and power attacks as main source of combat, it would contribute to the ''Umph'' feeling of slaying enemies when used and could actually be balanced way more easily without being afraid to tune it down too much, as it should remain strong.

Thirdly, it could be a modifiable skill. Meaning, if I wanted to use ''x'' skill via my skill gem, this ''x'' skill would replace my power-attack. Performing a power-attack modified by a skill gem could enhance the animation or keep the same one with additional visual effects.

Fourth, more attack-moves could be unlockable via the passive skill tree by investing STR-DEX-INT accordingly. Example, If I were to reach 75 strength, I could choose to unlock a power-attack able to be performed with hammers. But If I wanted to unlock the sword power-attack, I would need 35 STR and 35 DEX. By investing more points, I could increase the efficacy of this attack and thus increasing the damage of ''x'' skill gem used by the power-attack move.

Necessarily, not all skill would be locked behind a normal or power-attack. But, some could and they would add a more dynamic gameplay by adding an alternative attack that would help to deal with the smaller and ''swarmy'' mobs.

I think it's a good feeling to culminate a gameplay from being agile and meticulous to explosive and impactful.
