Campaign has almost no floweffect

I forced my self to do the campaign a 5th (4x in 0.1 and now 1x in 0.2) time and i think i lost all joy about this game.

The campaign feels terrible slow and you almost never get the exciting flow-effect.
Its not about the difficulty, I didnt die often but it felt like clearing a field of snow with a toy-shovel.
Usaly i like extensive grind, but at the campaign you almost never feel rewarded for your chores. Plus it takes so much time that when the endgame is reached i lost all fun.

Idk if it is a structural problem with the campaign or just a finetuning problem. But at the current state i would reather chop my leg off than pushing another char to endgame again.

The mix of extensive time it takes, the lack of rewards, and that there is almost no flow, makes the campaign one of the worst experiences ive ever had in an arpg. Even 0.1 felt better.

I hope mark and jonathan will reconsider the pacing.

Grinding-games work about rewards, and poe2 totaly lacks of dopamine-moments.
My brain never gets the nice little hormone-push when grinding for hours.
So the effect is constant little frustration moments.

I would realy like tho have a well balanced souls-like-arpg.
But at the moment it is not worth the time it takes.

Its like a job. If you didnt get payed enough you quit. And at the moment i feel like a 3rd country sweatshop-worker.

See you next season. :)

i dont hate the game.

but the campaign is painfully slow

rolled a second character this league too. mostly because i wanted to try something other than warrior.

conclusion is witch is way easier. fun to play. but im losing steam as the story is not great the 5th time around.

same problems, its been fixed alittle. but the movement speed to map size ratio just feels horrible.

i will say without the obligatory armor slows you down debuff that warriors deal with it feels slightly better.

but its still slow as molasses.
I did the campaign twice in 0.1, got halfway through it this time and then I just stopped playing because it wasn’t fun at all.

I enjoy the game overall, even with some of the missteps they’ve made (and thankfully somewhat corrected) but I simply cannot see myself playing the campaign in its current state more than once a year at the absolute most.

It’s so friggin slow. The maps are huge, and if you miss a Poi by 3 feet, screw you I guess (MARK THEM ON THE MAP WHEN WE GET CLOSE) Crafting in early game is even harder than crafting at end game (this is so boneheaded I can’t even wrap my head around it) leading to absolutely 0 feeling of progression other than checking the vendors every level up.

I’m hopeful for the potential of the game but frankly concerned the devs are too set in their ways / stubborn to be willing to make the types of massive overhauls the game needs.

I think we’ll get one major patch every few months, adding content that isn’t in itself bad but fails to fix any of the broader problems in the game.

At this point the biggest thing I’m looking forward to is WASD potentially being added to PoE1 so I can try that.

My one ask to the team making PoE2 is to stop making it and play it for a bit. Play multiple characters from level 1 to 80+ with no dev tools, as the players play the game. It was pretty obvious from the 0.2 launch issues no one is doing this (at least no one with influence on the game design).
