A True-SSF-Experiment during EA - can we give it a try?

+1 to this post.
I play SSF because I hate trading even if there was an auction house I would still play SSF. I really like the last epoch system, it also allows you to party up with your friends and trade amongst the items that you get while you are partied up. I can even play on a league server I dont really care as long as you boost my item drop rate and not force me to trade. I started this league in SSF, got to end game with my huntress but loot was so bad that it made it super hard to upgrade gear. I created a new character in trade used my currency from huntress, game is ez AF now. I know the game is balanced around trade but trading to just get good gear feels cheating to me. Honing in on exact item mods you want just makes crafting absolete. Getting good mods from crafting feels good but getting good items from trade does not feel good. I am not asking bonkers drop rate but better currency drops is what we really need for SSF to be fun for a person like me. I know some people like the slow burn but I want to be able to reach end game content in a month maybe month and a half while playing 3-4 hours during weekdays and 10 hours weekends. With the current drop rates and not abusing LS, I dont really see a way to do that. |

thats what i really dont get, we have a dev that openly admits that he wants the game to be hard and doesnt want to trivilize things. yet you can absolutely bypass that by trading
here you have players who want to play the game as designed in a purer form without the crutch of buying upgrades. yet despite the feedback he does nothing to address it it just doesnt make sense |

" Exactly. For me, PoE1 and 2 are single player games, that have a multiplayer feature and allow trading with others. But that's something I dont want and need in a game that plays itself like a singleplayer game. Just imagine you play a game like Baldurs Gate 3. It's clearly Singleplayer designed. But now you know of some cheats. For some amount of gold you can cheat yourself extremely good equipment from whereever you are. That's how it feels in PoE2. Trading is like cheating. You don't have to kill monsters/bosses or fullfill quests in order to get something good. The best stuff you only get through trading, which feels for me like cheating. There is no challenge involved at all. But without using this "cheat", I have to grind hundreds of hours for some decent stuff. So I either trade and feel like a cheater, or my characters will never have the punch for endgame because I don't have the time to grind... |
