Hello GGG Support,
I’m experiencing severe and frequent performance stutters and micro-freezes in Path of Exile 2, even though I am running a high-end system. The issue becomes especially noticeable when many enemies are on screen, or sometimes even when I’m standing still in certain areas.
My system specs:
all in game settings graphics related are on low.
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER (16GB)
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7900X (12 cores, 24 threads)
RAM: 32GB DDR5
Game Storage: NVMe SSD
Monitor: ASUS - TUF VG27AQ3A, connected via DisplayPort (G-Sync compatible)
OS: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, all drivers and updates installed
Symptoms:
Micro-stutters in large battles and high lagg
Game feels like the character is “dragging weight” during large fights
Inventory actions and UI interactions are often delayed.I tried turning on and off all sorts of settings and configurations in the game without any positive result.
G-Sync OFF makes difference but in big battles the problem reappears and it is unplayable.
Vulkan performs slightly better than DX11/12, but stutters remain
What I’ve already tried:
Tested with --noasync launch option
Disabled G-Sync and V-Sync
Set shader cache to OFF in NVIDIA Control Panel
Tried all renderers: Vulkan, DX11, DX12
Updated to latest NVIDIA Game Ready drivers
Disabled all overlays (NVIDIA ShadowPlay, Discord, Steam)
I also tried installing and uninstalling the game with no improvement.
Monitored performance via Task Manager and CapFrameX – GPU usage spikes to 98–99% during freezes
No thermal throttling or RAM issues detected
I play the game on a LAN cable and I have no packet loss. The latency during the game is always low.
Frame time and latency graphs show extreme spikes during events
Please let me know if there’s any workaround or fix coming for this issue – it's affecting gameplay to the point where it's hard to play.
Thank you in advance,
