Hit my wall with Jamanra Act 5
I think it might be physically impossible for me to beat this boss. My build deals lightning and some fire damage that he has resistances against. Each of my attacks only puts the tiniest dents into him. I did well against the bosses before, Viper was the only one that i struggled with but it's not even close to this ordeal.
The challenge for me isn't his "meaningful" mechanics but that my hands fucking hurt(!!!) after repeatedly 10 minutes of nonstop pushing mouse and keyboard buttons. Also with the fight taking so long i take some damage here and there and eventually i simply run out of flask charges even tho i could beat him otherwise. At best i got him down to like 30% of his hp. I have tried different spears, different gems to do at least some cold damage or to do more phys damage. Barely makes a difference. I have no resources to completely respec my build. Sure i'm certainly not the best player and i'm also getting old but i didn't have these issues last season. I got two chars to level 93 so it's not like i'm super horrible noob. Last bumped on Apr 14, 2025, 5:19:26 AM

G'day mate, I can understand your frustration—Jamanmra is definitely a tough boss fight if you dont know a few tricks. As a HCSSF player with over 500 hours, here are a few suggestions to help:
Don’t worry too much about your build—at this stage of the game, just pick a cold ability and use that. It’ll work fine. As for the boss fight design, it’s long—that’s just the way it is. You’ll need some passive regen instead of relying solely on potions, and make sure your health potions are the ones that restore charges every 0.25 seconds. In this long fight, it makes a huge difference. And here’s the big one: equip every bit of lightning resist gear you have. As an HCSSF player, I’m already limited in my gear, but even saving a few lightning resist pieces and equipping them made this boss fight much easier. It took me a relatively long time to kill (maybe around 10 minutes), but my health barely dropped thanks to about 60% lightning resist. Just be mindful of the windstorm, but if you stand behind Asala, you'll be fine. You can apply this logic to all boss fights, by the way. Just don’t blame me if it ends up trivializing the game for you now! Good luck and have fun :) Last edited by Ragestorm26#0930 on Apr 10, 2025, 8:30:31 PM

" Hey man, thx for your help! I will give this a try tomorrow with fresh hands and head. |

As a side note, movement speed on boots and any passives you can get are essentially BiS for any build—not just for clearing speed but also for avoiding boss mechanics. If you have any passives that boost movement speed or, more importantly, passive regen, it might be worth farming some gear quickly, just to sell to a vendor and respec. Since you've tried the fight a few times, you're probably already familiar with the mechanics, but watching a YouTube video that breaks them down will definitely help. It can get pretty hectic when the boss hits below 30%, and the screen is filled with hazards. Breathe deeply, stay calm—you've got this. Asking ChatGPT about boss abilities and damage types can help you plan your resistances and defenses for each boss fight. Honestly, most bosses usually have a primary damage type, and stacking resistances for that makes most boss fights a lot easier.

Final note: There are also passives that grant potion regen every 0.X seconds, which could be useful if they are within range for your build on the passive tree.

And to complete, dont forget that most of your damage are not coming from your skill tree or even your skill, but from your weapon.
And btw, maybe you dont know that, but if you want to farm some area before going again fighting Jamanra, you can go on your world map, and then ctrl + right clic (if you are playing on PC) to open a new version of the map (and so regenerate mobs). So, you could find an area you like to farm, cleaning it then open your map, ctrl + right clic on this area, open a new one and farm again. Maybe try to farm more, and then try to find a better weapon on merchant or by gambling ;) Last edited by Legoury#0138 on Apr 10, 2025, 8:49:08 PM

Your help was very useful to me. I crafted two cold spells in place of my lighting spells and beat him on the first try! Was still a lengthy fight but he is quite lethargic in the second phase when he gets nonstop pounded with cold damage.

Well played, good sir! Awesome to hear you’re smashing it—that must’ve felt so satisfying. Definitely keep those tactics in mind for all boss fights, and always factor in some passive regen. A lot of my deaths have come from running out of potions mid-boss fight, including my most recent one with my Huntress.
Looking forward to seeing you tear through T15 and hopefully join us in the HCSSF leagues soon! |

Did the wall stun you , knock you out, or make you go backwards, or just fall on you and squish you ?
