Upcoming changes, changed anything?
The upcoming changes really changing anything, because it seems to me that I will still need to play Twister to progress through the campaign? I don't want to as the skill & combo is utterly boring, and if you say you done it without Twister, cool, tell me how.

" well it seems like 60% of players are doing it with lightning spear? which is the one click build at the moment. I'm enjoying the interplay of Explo Spear and Storm Lance - ES with quick detonate support gem can be used to detonate the lance so you don't necessarily need frenzy charges to clear white mobs but you can get them through parry and culling strike for rares and bosses. this builds off of the "melee strikes increase projectile damage/projectile strikes increase melee damage" support gem and passive nodes. herald of thunder persistent skill. it's quite fun just takes a little "getting used to" and it seems like most players are not willing to try to "get used to" anything, just make it easy from the start so no need to learn or think or try. " I played without twister because I didn't like it. And hit maps day 3. I played a bleed oriented build with rake, disengage, blood hunt and explosive spear as well as blood chance on the default auto attack for single target and es mobs. Group clear speed was a little low at times depending on how bad the gear was. But overall it was never super underwhelming. I always could progress areas. I hit some brick walls at bosses but taken a break if i noticed getting frustrated at them helped a lot. The spear throws are really good if you know how to properly use parry in an engaging way. E.g. not standing still hoping a mob hits you. You should rake in attack if possible look for a monster which is about to hit you toggle parry for a split second-> disengage no matter if you hit the parry or not and hit the explosive spear if you got endurance.Variations obviously apply. Sometimes i raked in disengaged and used blood hunt after the mobs grouped up a little on a mob who bled the most exploding everything in 1 combo. Perpetual charge on explosive spear with profusion on disengage allowed me to sometimes spam 5+ spears after i got endurance blasting away all mobs. I currently also experiment with glacial lance and the freeze feels very good in that combo |

im still mad about the garbage ass minions
All i wanted was to play a damn witch with minions all i do rn is running circles hoping my minions wont die 1 shot at respawn just to see them 1 sec later die oneshot to any boss / mob aoe |

" Wasnt there a huge buff to minions already which some people mentioned helped a lot ? I mean some gem levels got 69% dmg and hp buffs. |

well atleast they are doing something. my concern is that they seem to be surgically targetting areas and specific mobs
they are also focusing on the campaign which many will be done with for now so what happens in maps? arent they are generated so i guess you cant target specific mobs? surely this approach is a terrible idea, wouldnt it be better to target mob types or families.. for instance, these mob types are fast. these mob type are tanky. these mob types hit like a truck and so on thats the only way i can see it affecting the endgame or have i missed something Last edited by tarloch#1873 on Apr 10, 2025, 4:21:31 AM

" Explosive spear was tedious and felt like a trapper, just on a silly long delay. Granted I could through in faster fuse support, but it is still boring game play. Maybe I need to revisit lightning spear but I feel like that only hits later on and not through the campaign? As for herald of thunder. Originally got HoB because I wanted to play bleed, but it's boring. Spent a while trying to get a spirit gem to drop and have not had a single one drop to get HoT, which is so damn crap if you ask me. |

" Never using parry because it is utterly crap & boring game play. The idea of getting a charge to use a skill to make it work (do damage) is awful design, especially early on. Early game should be about playing whatever you want, free respec, low level uncut gems purchasable from vendors, so at least you can slow farm gold and buy one instead of refreshing an area in the hope something drops. Everything within reason should be playable. Everything doesn't need to be optimal, but every skill is capable to clear Acts 1-3 with a breeze, albeit the damage and clear falling off on builds that have no synergy. When you get to Cruel start to have more damage & clear drop-off with builds with no design/synergy. |
