why does conduit not work with minions?
I was hoping to share my frenzy + power charges with my minions.

" Keystones are meant to be a sort of tradeoff. There's benefits and penalties that effectively are meant to build an entire character around. CI makes you immune to Chaos but kills your life making you focus as a ES build while worrying about special effects like freeze. Iron Grip only helps with bows, which are Dex gears but only helps by using your Str: thus forcing you to have an odd Str/Dex hybrid to benefit. That sort of thing. The penalty to Conduit is that YOU gain nothing from it: only your human allies. It forces you to party as soloing grants you nothing. There would also be no reason for a minion user to EVER avoid using it as it would be only a benefit, no penalty. There's a fraction of players who like consistency and predictability: killing boss X will yield item Y.
This game really isn't for people like that. This game is for people who'll do the same area over and again because they know..., a Mirror can drop anywhere, anytime. - CharanJaydemyr |

" what if my friend has conduit? will it work on me and my minions or just me? |

The reason Conduit doesn't work with minions is because minions aren't players.
Also, there are a few keystones that have no downside. IE, Arrow Dodging, Hexmaster, and Whispers of Doom. Last edited by Pastromy#5792 on May 8, 2013, 10:42:40 PM

Doesn't work on your minions. |

Minions are not party members. Conduit applies to party members. If a party member has conduit, you're their party member, and will get charges from them. Your minions are not, and will not.

" Arrow Dodging's downside is that it works with Evasion, the weakest defense. hexmaster and whisper's downsides are their position in the tree. i too fas fo youuuuuuu

" I think he meant why is it that way. what is the thinking that led to the decision to exclude minions from gaining shared charges? i know that's what i want to know. [Removed by Support] - don't mention the chinese ownership of this game!

It would be to OP, thats why. Minions are already quite powerfull i hardly feel they need more passive buffs.
Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes

"The reason minions don't count as party member is because they fundamentally are not members of the party. The reason Conduit affects party members specifically, rather than something like "allies", is that it is explicitly intended to he the party keystone, that provides no bonus to you, only to your party members. That's pretty much the entire point of Conduit. Last edited by Mark_GGG#0000 on May 9, 2013, 1:59:52 AM
