POE2 Lich Event Horizon + Eldrich Empowerment
I hope I am not the only one out there that thinks this should work differently. Event horizon currently does not work with the Eldritch Empowerment ascendency node because Event Horizon seems to word it as "Lose" rather than "Costs". I don't know if this is intentional or not, but it feels like these two should synergize together. I've seen a reddit post about it here, just trying to make my voice heard so hopefully this changes.

+1 i would not take this asceendency if i knew this interaction would not work.
weird interaction between 'lose' and 'cost' |

" I know right! I literally chose the ascendency because I thought they would interact together lol. Oh well, I'm still happy with my Essence drain build, but kind of a shame it doesn't synergize yet. |

I was upset when I found out that it didn't work together. I would like to know the developers' opinion on this matter. |

" Hopefully with enough traction they will comment on here |

If they weren't so massivly wide apart you could sort of negate the ES-loss with Zeloth oath.
Problem with that is that its harder to stack hp and therefor liferegen with mages in this than in PoE1 |

I thought this was intentionally a similar effect, bit of a shock to realise that they work differently. It does mean that with event horizon you can still cast chaos skills even at 0 energy shield, as it just keeps it at 0 but doesn't prevent casting. Eldritch Empowerment prevents the casting if you have 0 energy shield as you can't pay the cost, which is quite a different effect, unless you're planning to go chaos inoculation in which case the two effects become equivalent. I'm not sure if there is a good way to get these to work together without limiting one or the other. The way they are at the moment they work well with different builds, and still okay, if surprising together (other than no upside from empowerments recharge interrupt clause). |

I mean I get the point of being surprised how it works but lets be honest, it has no influence at all on the build. To spec into event horizon is way too much point investment anyway. You rarely use it at the moment as essence drain player because you dont need to. There are way better opportunities to play. So it does not devalue the ascendancy at all.
But I get the point that the wording is confusing. |

" Not sure about the not pathing near there. There are curse nodes right next to there that are very good for the build, and I've seen a lot of builds use it. |

It's a shame it doesn't work, i even bought a from nothing letting me skill stuff around resonance to grab the lovely chaos nodes for my witch, just to see that event horizon stops my ES recharge, which I feel like it should't. I mean it's not completely in vain because there is a lot of other cool stuff there and you can just take out event horizon and still get all the other chaos nodes, but the 53% chaos increase was the main reason I even came up with that....
