There is no limit AFAIK. There was a youtube video of someone triing o get the ax attack spped from quill rain - it wasn't effective, but hilarious (IIRC he achived 13 or 14 APS).

There is no hard cap on attack speed, but there is a soft cap - if you have the absolutely correct build/gear/gems etc for optimizing attack speed, then I'm sure there is a point where you have the most possible. This could potentially change with new uniques/passive tree work, of course.

The cap is likely when your attacks execute in one frame per second...

Your amount of % increased attack speed is an integer, so is technically capped at the maximum integer value. It's impossible to come near that, though, as there are only so many bonuses to attack speed it's possible to get.
So there is a cap of sorts, that being the point at which you have max attack speed bonuses on all gear, passive tree, etc. | |

Switching from 10.31 APS to 8APS with flickerstrike there is barely any noticeable difference in my experience so I wonder if there is a cap on certain skills speed. Was using multi-strike though so maybe that changes it somehow.
