Absolutely no way to clear Act 3

How is this possible?
I am sitting at level 44 and can't clear level 41 content. There is literally NO WAY to defeat the bosses with Rake "Amazon" The drops are totally, absolutely horrible. There is no level 2 support gems dropping, despite the guaranteed. I changed some support gems and somehow made the build even worse. I had to play the dreadnought for 3 hours to overlevel / try to find SOME gear to be able to beat the Act 2 final boss. It is absolutely laughable, the state of the EA currently. Thinking of swapping to something like whirlwind, but you know, that is impossible. No gems, no currency. I have no idea exactly how much I have been playing so far to get to the level 44, but 30 hours or so is not far. Yes, I know without saying that it is skill issues and so on, but not even build guides help. Tried that, made the build worse.... Last bumped on Apr 8, 2025, 8:08:18 PM

You are not alone. I am at lvl 39.5 on a lightning spear amazon in the middle of act 3 normal after 16 hours. I had to get help from overlevelled players with a couple bosses that are just too hard with what is available to you.
Lower the mobs/boss hp by 40% or buff the damage. Drop way more currency and at least more rare items. The current state of the game is not fun. Too hard, not enough options or variety of builds that are viable boss-killers. If the game is supposed to be this hard, I am out. The 0.1.0 balance was great for me, this is just hard and thus boring. People that are superskilled and or/lucky with drops get ahead in the economy leaving the est of us behind. I think they rushed the patch out pre-maturely to keep players interest. I don't think the current state of the game is doing them any favours. Use Throwing Spear and Sniper's Mark for single target boss DPS.
Dunno what to clear packs with. Rake+stomping ground probably just does nothing and you die in melee while undergeared. It's great early but falls off hard around that point. " well the problem is you are trying to use a single skill to clear, the game is not designed for you to be a "rake amazon" but an amazon, so you should use a whole skills set that synergize, welcome to poe2 |

Bullsh*t. It's so easy with Rake, Herald Of Blood and even + Twisters and additionally Tame Beast. 3-links are enough to finish 1st 3 Acts :))

Not to mean I only Rake.
I storm lance, parry, rake, disengage, blood hunt mainly. Bloodhounds mark for single target. Spearfield for AOE. I push so many buttons, and try to parry properly, that it is annoying in itself, but I understand the logics behind that too. However, I would wish to see those mechanics kick in much later in the game. Meaning, that killing a white in 5sec vs 2sec is not about how much timing and rotation success you have. And some attacks you just cant parry, so... It's just one more mechanic to add into super annoying deaths due to low movement speed / not able to dodge roll far enough in some cases. (Combined to controller playstyle where dodge rollin in general is hit and miss) 0.1 was much better, but perhaps a bit too easy on some bosses. (Freezing the boss instantly and just whacking it for 10sec) Now it is more about learning the mechanics, which is good, but damn. 7min long boss fights on campaign, that you must try again 10 times (even when you already know the mechanics mostly)? Nope, not ok. |

" That sounds like a very clunky and slow combo. Just disengage, rake, bloodhunt, repeat for single target. Just spam Rake with stomping ground support for clearing. You will need bleed nodes and level 2 support bleed gems on a 3 link for bleed to work well after late A2. " Not gona lie. Im ranged huntress using 1 button lighting spear and i have great clear in maps. Upgrade lightning spear and use the exploding spears that dig into the ground. Also try to get a spear with projectile skill level and as much phys damage as you can. Campaign will be tough but its definitely doable with a 2 button build in campaign. Forget frenzy charges they are not necessary at all. |
