Disengage does not consistently hit the Parried mob

The title explains this common unfortunate occurrence for spear players, which seems to occur more with big groups of mobs. I have tried to solve it the 'Area of Effect' support gem but it is still inconsistent, and it feels wrong that I have to try to solve this basic interaction with a support gem.

The problem seems to have two roots:

Disengage does not have a large enough AOE
Mobs can get knocked back by Parry, which is not actually helpful

Yeah, this is a problem. Failing to gain a frenzy charge this way makes combat slow down and annoying. I've started to only use it against single mobs, in preparation for the next pack. Even fighting as few as 2 mobs can go wrong.
Agreed. Disengage needs some QoL improvement to make hitting the parried monster(s) 100% consistent.
See these posts for other speed bumps slowing down Parry-centric gameplay.
