Parry feedback - why not PoE 1 style guard skill?

The very obvious redflag for parry being poorly designed is when you enter Hunting Grounds for the first time and you're swarmed by ~20 mobs near the Ritual encounter. You have to kite mobs and parry them one at time which just feels horrible. Cull the Weak won't change much about getting Frenzy Charges, it's still single target and won't really work well in a scenarios different than these from skill showcases, the game environment just don't support this playstyle and it's really concerning they just don't want to admit it.

My question is, why parry isn't working like "guard skills" from PoE1? Just look at how Steelskin works, now imagine that for parry - instant guard skill, if you time it right you get Frenzy/Empower instantly. There is no need to cast 6 skills in order to kill 3 white mobs and the overall gameplay loop would be way more satisfying. In current form "Parry" is just a scuffed "Raise Shield" which ruins immersion and honestly I abandoned that mechanic right away, went for bleed and rerolled back to lightning only when i could generate charges via Combat Frenzy, not because i don't like the combo/parry idea it's just not working when you're constantly swarmed by 20 mobs xd

The popular counter argument is this is supposed to be "souls-like combat" but it has nothing to do with it:
- you're not swarmed by 20 enemies and even if you place yourself in unfair position they usually won't jump you that easily, you have wastly superior mobility
- parry is deserved mostly for PvP, elite monsters and bosses but never feels mandatory - and when you do it it's super rewarding, it's not core design for attacks to even deal damage (with obscure exceptions for things like Misericorde)
- in souls games you don't need to use full combo to kill one pack of white monsters, they just die in one hit from basic attacks, so it's not getting tiresome/boring that fast

The other problem with this is it's locked in "spear skills" system so can't really generate Frenzy via parry for other weapons. Game is eventually tunneling you into certain playstyle, personally I'm a fan of PoE1 style where it's not locked to only one set of weapons.

The worst thing of it is there is no way this was tested at all, this design isn't just a Huntress problem, it's everywhere. They changed cooldowns of skills to ridiculous degree (the 10 sec Bell cooldown and instant revert was hilarious) it turns them to turn based combat in a world where I'm being jumped by 2 Hasted rare monsters and pack of angry blue mobs.

I eventually gave up on Huntress and rerolled into Smith of Kitava, there is same shit with the anvil skill. Just watch the Quin's video it's beyond hilarious, I don't even know if we should laugh or cry at this point, it's unskippable 5 sec animation for laughable damage and monsters just swarm you xD
