The problem isn't in boss fights; their power is such that you basically charge up HotG every time you heavy stun them (so far--I just got it and haven't used it on many bosses). The problem is in the other times when you would want to use it: against rares with ranged attacks and area denial abilities, to set up a delayed nuke to clear out a little space at the beginning of a ritual or early in a breach, etc. Those were some of the best uses of this skill, and now they're somewhere between unlikely and impossible.

I don't know what the perceived problem with this skill is, but if it was too powerful, just make it less powerful. This change just makes it strictly *less useful*, and that's no fun. I don't know what the devs saw that I didn't, but this skill had a pretty long cooldown already, so I can't imagine people were spamming it. Now, it's just a combo finisher but worse. If it were just a 10 combo skill, it would be annoying, but I could still set up more situations where I could use it.

The short of it is that having a skill that you can only rarely use feels worse than having a skill that is less powerful.


Im guessing you didnt see the Chronomancer hammer build, my friend ran it alongside me on my Titan ascendancy and no word of a lie he got 10 hammers in a row back to back due to the chrono ascendancy. So while I hate glory from a Titan ascendancy pov, i get it for other out of control builds.

We just need a good way to get it to have the same kind of usability we had with cooldowns without the ability to abuse it imo.
With a bit of stun investment you pretty much have the same uptime or more on hammer now.

So basically, HOTG (warrior) got nerfed because yet another ranged dps glass cannon caster found a way how to abuse something. Great. Guess its back to mace strike and perfect strike.

And still, this could be solved with rage cost, not some meme glory.

This is a horrible change to a great skill. its like they didnt know what to do, so they just slapped this horrid glory mechanic to gate this ability. So now HotG is ds.

Much more fair this version. I still refuse to use it as it does way too much damage in my opinion.


Yea good luck building stun on pinnacle bosses or the bosses at the end of the two trials in the game for 4th ascendency. They have super high stun build up so stunning them wasn't an option unless you had already dropped hammer of the gods 3x and hit them between, hoping they don't phase.

Sure you can use it on early game bosses but when you get to late game, this mechanic of needing to heavy stun the boss before you can cast it basically makes it a dead skill
