Lich & Bind Spectre Feedback
I am one of the ones who begged for this and I'm glad it's in the game. Lich looks to give survivability very much in is build. But I guess say, not a single spirit ability for the necromancer class?
Throughout the game getting spirit on an item as a minion player basically hard kicks that item slot for the whole game. I've been using a lvl 14 robe bc its the only item I've rolled with spirit on it all game. This has been my experience on infernalist before this patch as well. No one is about to like what I say next. But bind spectre is largely useless until endgame and questionable even then. This is due to firebomb skelwtons still being so low cost and out dpsing most other options for minions at any point. The bind spectre options need a massive spirit nerf. Like minus 20 on all monsters. Theres no point in saying you can have an army of smaller monsters when you can only have 2 or 3, 50 spirit ant monsters for the entire campaign. If you want to increase spirit as you level up thats fine, but as it stands now its not even very experimental for new players. Firebomb skeletons need to be worth 70 spirit for all others to be viable. And no one wants that. I'm saying this bc it is such a hyoe ability and many love it. Im glad its here, but for so much work, its barely viable. Only a few monsters are even worth using. This issue is exaggerated because I can only bind 1 minster per gem. I completely understand this design choice and really have nothing wrong with it. It would helo even with experimentation for years. But not if its elementary math to conclude its not worth it. This issue falls off at endgame but for a lvl 7 skill, you cant ACTUALLY use it until around Act 5. For all other classes this wouldnt be an issue, but it needs to work for lich. I heavily suggest adding a spirit skill to lich that allows for us to use more minions and nerf the firebomb spirit so that we have more options here. Last bumped on Apr 9, 2025, 8:08:31 AM

Increasing spirit cost of skeletons will destroy any early game necromancer build. I just finished act 1 with 2 skellies from scepter + 2 arsonists + 1 sniper and I feel like it's the bare minimum for almost smooth progress.

Nvm. I just got a Faridun Impaler.
And I just got an amulet that lets me have 12 spirit. So now I can have that and 2 fire bombs and 2 skeletons. The 4 fire bombs are still better for bosses tho. |

And lich does still need more spirit.

"As powerful undead beings, liches were potent necromancers and wielded great power over life and death: they were able to disrupt the life forces of those nearby and were highly effective at animating the dead, so it was little surprise that they often commanded small armies of lesser undead. Even good liches relied on undead servants and wielded great influence over the undead."
- https://forgottenrealms.fandom.com/wiki/Lich How come the master of undead, the being of unnatural and close to godlike powers and control over the undead... Gets NO EXTRA SPIRIT OR ANY WAY TO GET MORE MINIONS! This is a scam! And the bind spectre? Its way to expensive for what you get, it needs a ton of rebalancing per mob. Ps, dread servant from act 1 tombs gives you 6 skeletons for 80 spirit, which is cheaper than 6 "extra" skeleton warriors. those skeletons also act as corpses when they die, so you can summon zombies with them or use other skills. Downsides: They dont follow the dread servant, and they have a map wide minion cap, so you need to re-summon the dread servants after each fight to reset them theres also the zealot necromancers from mastadon badlands area, that summons the unearth minions and the small things that throw their skulls. |
