Spending 7 minutes on a boss only to die with them at 25% feels bad

I feel like they've mistaken frustration for "challenge," throughout the game. That boss fight is a great example.

How do you think it supposed to feel?
The problem is campaign, and its getting fixed. If you cant do it yourself, ask for help or wait patch. Jamanra is gear checker.

What items do u have? Do you have sockets with runes? What you got for resists?

The problem is they are not building the game for regular people to beat it. No it's Act 2 not 6 Act 2 nothing should be that hard. I main SSF so I am use to have to just roll 24/7 fun game play I know right. Jonathan wants the game to feel horrible for the non haredcoreish players.

Yeah, regular person here, also do "soft" SSF (i'll still use the currency exchange later when I get it unlocked again): I expect it to be hard in Cruel Act 2 ("act 5"), not to the level it's at in regular Act 2...

He has too much HP.

On my second huntress (chose the amazon ascendancy that time), I got him to 5% and it took 13 minutes. I recorded it to make sure. I should just upload it to YouTube and post it here. Bosses, unless they're endgame bosses with multiple phases, shouldn't take more than 5 minutes at the most to get through.

Right now, it's like bosses take forever while you're going through the campaign on a new character, but for a pinnacle boss, you're only spending 10 seconds on it because you have to one shot them before they one shot you. Of course, I haven't gotten to maps yet this league so I don't know if it feels better in the endgame.

I don't think Jonathan wants the game to feel horrible for anyone. That would make them less money. I generally like almost everything about the game and I didn't mind the campaign taking longer this time because everything is just harder in general. I just think they overdid it with this fight.
Hint: Don't do SSF if you want a casual play.

SSF is for players looking for a challenge. Players that have time on their hands, and players who know how to make builds viable around the things they find. Sometimes, finding these things take time. That's SSF for you.

If you go on trade you can literally roll through any boss. Playing Trade isn't some demeaning mode.

There are more important things to do than to tank the difficulty of the game even further down.

That boss is a DPS check, like Molten Vault boss is. If you dont have over 1.5k DPS on your skill, you're not gonna beat Molten Vault on time before you reach the end of the arena.

In PoE 1 I spent an entire league hunting for an item, and still never got it. This is SSF for you. You need to make strong builds around what you find, and your builds often change.

Here's my attempt to try and be helpful. With basically EVERY character I've had I've always had problems with the A2 boss and the same "fixes" worked for me basically every time.

My problems were:

1. Mediocre damage. Buying new weapons from trade helped immensely

2. Mediocre passive tree (glass cannon or other nodes taken). I had to look at my tree an make sure I had some type of recovery options. Life / ES on hit, Life / ES regeneration, Life / ES leech, etc. Note: Gear can be a life saver here too .. not just the passive tree.

3. Mediocre speed. Buying new "move speed" boots helped a ton.

4. Damage over time / Damage uptime. Having totems, bleed, ignite, or some way to keep damage constantly ticking against the boss is helpful so you can concentrate on positioning. Ignite & totems / ballistas helped me.

FYI: I would go from not dooing much good vs. Janmara (sp?) to beating him with full health and often potions. It still took longer than I would want but I was concentrating on positioning perhaps too much and didn't take advantage of damage windows properly.

"Why not just buy an item?" this is Act 2, of the normal difficulty, in the campaign. If players have to resort to buying a winning item that early, that indicates severe problems with the design & loot.

That's BS.

It's an elitist way of thinking that you're better than everyone else for not playing Trade league. Like I said above, SSF is added challenge where your build revolves around the things you find, and sometimes finding those things takes time.

From one hand, you're shooting yourself in the foot, on the other you're complaining it takes too long when that's exactly the function of SSF.
