The developers hate us.
The developers hate us. The act designers want us to suffer, and the developers support them in this. The publisher feels the same way. I reached Act 2 in two days and got stuck in a regular zone. I can’t even get to the boss—everything that moves kills me.
I have no currency, no loot. The developer created ideal conditions for people who enter the game not to play, but to work. Nothing drops for me, and the vendor only sells white or blue gear. There are some yellow items, but not for my character. I bought those too and listed them for trade—nobody is buying. The game, which is supposed to be an ACTION RPG, has turned into a SUFFERING RPG. And don’t give me that excuse that the game is in early access. I’ve been playing it for all 4 months, eagerly waiting for the new league so I could once again enjoy the game—this time with a fresh economy, new character classes, and a different passive tree and ascendancies. I bought access to this game in December, and I really liked it! To support the developers, I even bought a second copy on another account. Now it’s a completely different game, where RMT enjoyers are happy and we, the regular players, are left to suffer. If the game had been like this back in December, I wouldn’t have spent a single cent. This is a scam. I’m disappointed. UPDATED In the last league, I created over 8 characters, completed all acts with them, and leveled each one to 90+. I knew how to enjoy the campaign, even though it was already challenging back then. But this time, it’s unbearable and awful. I’ve stopped enjoying the game. Now, the acts can’t be completed without help, luck, loot, or proper gear—which I don’t have, because the developer didn’t provide any kind of support or equipment for new players. Everything depends on luck, and that luck has passed me by—just like it has for thousands of other players. Last edited by PARK#6058 on Apr 6, 2025, 7:36:49 AM Last bumped on Apr 7, 2025, 9:48:28 AM

I enjoyed the challenge and experience in 0.1 and it feels relatively the same to me in 0.2. I'm currently end of act 2. Don't know what people are talking about.

" I don't even have the strength to argue anymore. So many people — streamers included — are deleting their characters, leaving angry reviews on Steam and YouTube. Remember how everyone praised PoE 2? I praised this game too, because I truly believed it was the best. I played it every single day for four months and eagerly awaited the update that promised to be exciting. The developers changed the skill tree and added a lot of interesting content — but it's impossible to enjoy it because players don't have any damage, while monsters have tons of health and deal tons of damage. I have a guild full of people, over 20 friends on my list — and not a single one of them has finished the campaign yet. I paid for enjoyment, not for suffering. There was already some struggle in 0.1.0, but it was balanced by decent loot, currency drops from mobs, and the ability to buy gear that allowed me to actually play and enjoy the game. Now I can't even touch the new content because I can’t survive, can’t kill anything, and nothing drops. The vendors have no decent gear. How the **** am I supposed to play this game without having a nervous breakdown from dying on a regular zone that doesn’t even have a boss? I believe this is a huge betrayal. Half a million people played this game on Steam — we all believed. But now this is a completely different game from the one I fell in love with, the one I bought multiple times on different accounts just to support the developers.
Heres my approach, I quit , Im gonna play another game that respects my time and effort , this is not it atm. Maybe it will change maybe it wont I dont care anymore. I plugged over 500hrs in the first 2 months of this game and now Im out after completing Act 1 with friends. The HP of bosses with a 3 person group is completely out of whack we considered splitting up individually to kill ACT 1 boss because it would of been easier!!! We all had level 90+ characters last League or whatever u wanna call this now, not like were inexperienced. TBH the results these Devs have pushed out are filled with incompetence. We cant even get a SIMPLE target dummy because it would be too easy to see in plain numbers where all the problems are.

PoE 1 had Ruthless and Hardcore as optional challenges that an individual could freely choose to opt into. PoE 2's vision, if the patches are any indication, is making those toggles mandatory.
So I'd disagree with the idea that GGG's devs hate PoE's playerbase. Instead, the way I'm interpreting it, it comes across as them being so stubborn and stuck with their initial vision plans that they're completely blind to anything else, calling even overwhelming constructive critique as people just trolling and/or complaining for the sake of complaining. Which is only going to serve to drive out everyone who wouldn't choose to opt into those Ruthless/Hardcore systems. Last edited by SgtMumbles#7941 on Apr 6, 2025, 1:16:54 PM

" I truly hope — and believe — that the developers will bring back, or even improve, the gameplay experience for players, so we can enjoy the game instead of suffering through it. They need to increase player damage, reduce monster damage, and most importantly, reduce monster health. Right now, monsters have way too much health. The developers have done a lot of work, and there is new content in the game — but it's impossible to engage with it, because most players like myself are guaranteed to die. This feels like betrayal and deception. And the saddest, most frustrating part is that there’s no way to get back all the money I spent over the last four months. Because for a version of the game like this — I wouldn’t have paid a single cent. They made everything super difficult. The game was already slow and hard, and now it’s even slower and harder, with nothing given in return to compensate — no interesting gameplay loop, no reliable farming, nothing that guarantees you can actually get the gear you need to finish the campaign. Everything depends on luck — and not everyone is lucky. The developer has created ideal conditions for the kind of people who come into the game not to play, but to make money. And I cannot support people like that out of personal principle — because they’re the same people who scam others for divine orbs that take weeks to farm, like they did to me. And they even brag about it openly in chat, telling others where to go to scam more divine orbs. I just don’t understand — is there no one left on this team who stands for the average player and defends their interests? I understand that people can sometimes suggest bad ideas. But this isn’t one of those cases. When so many players are expressing frustration and anger over this update — because we were deceived — it means this is no longer the same game. It has become worse.
Guys, I look at this thread and it seems to me this is written by a throwaway account. Which means that most likely this might be lies and misrepresentation.
In 0.1, the campaign is so difficult that to make 8 different characters to complete all the campaign would be time consuming and it would not be easy. Now the person is claiming that at 0.2, he/she got stuck in an area and cannot progress and cannot do this and cannot do that. I find this simply hard to believe and cannot be taken seriously. 34pre98qua
