Concentrated Effect on banners?

I noticed that the concentrated effect gem can go on banner skills, but it doesn't seem like it does anything other than reduce their radius. Is it just not properly listing the boost, or does it really not work?

What boost? Concentrated Effect does two things: cuts area of effect and improves area damage. If a skill has no area damage, the support only affects its AoE.
