Power charge on crit + discharge

Hi!
Im thinking about making a build around discharge, but I have a question concerning the mechanics of it.

If I use discharge + power charge on crit (and have some nice crit skills), will the discharge itself grant me new power charges?

And are the amount of new power charges based on the amount of crits I gain? (so many monsters would give me max power charges instantly), or is it set that per discharge, if I hit a critical hit, I can only get 1 power charge?

You only get a charge when you crit, even on an AoE skill. Voll's Protector gives you a charge per mob that gets hit by a crit, but that severely limits your build.

Not sure how this work but I'd rather wait for the new patch. I believe today's patch was supposed to buff Discharge in some way, but I'm not sure exactly what they're planning with it.

Voll's, Discharge and high crit is a good combo.

Discharge has 4% crit. It's hell to get it to a respectable crit chance, even then you are looking at around 50%, full crit gear, every crit passive. My level 16 20% PCoC gives a 65% chance to get a power charge so I assume it's 70% at max.

50*70= 35% chance of getting 1 power charge.

How it works in practice is you build up charges, rush into a mob, 50% of the time you one shot everything, the other 50% of the time you are getting hit before the animation has completed.

I hope the damage buff means it will actually hit hard w/o having to crit but I'm not sure it will ever be that great without diamond flasks.

Discharge is the biggest reason I miss diamond flasks. They really allowed the build to work.
