Ancestral Bonds?

"Can summon up to 1 additional totem
You can't deal Damage with your Skills yourself"

Given I can't deal damage with skills myself, does that nullify effects from spells myself?
ie. chill, shock, ignite.

yes. you can use damage gems in support of the spell totem gem, or use ranged skills to support ranged totem gem, etc.
basically you're throwing down totems to do your work for you while you debuff, kite, open chests, whatever.

When you take Ancestral Bond, you can only deal damage through minions, totems, mines, and traps.

you cant applie shock/fire/freeze with other than listed above cause the duration is based on the damage you dealt to the mob.
means if you deal 0 damage and got the "5%chance to shock" for example, you can shock but for 0 seconds cause you dealt 0 damage
