Trail of Caltrops Spirit Gem Literally Does Nothing

Does not fling out any caltrops at all. Does nothing when rolling, it only exists to consume both my real life and ingame spirit.

I'm not having that issue. Rolling around my hideout and T1 map drops caltrops for me.

I'm getting the same thing, tried with Whirlwind Lance and Tornado, same on both. It worked the first time I entered the zone but after that it stopped working. I'm guessing when Caltrops despawn it's not freeing up the Caltrop limit?

What am I doing wrong then? I initially assumed it was supposed to drop caltrops when I roll. But seeing that that wasnt the case, I then presumed that perhaps it meant dodge in the case of evasion. Even tried rolling right before getting hit by something. Clearly both aren't the case. Here's what I have on my end.
