Exactly. most people are talking about ingenuity and stacking huge att/res/dmg on rings but what's more exciting to me is being able to actually use/combo the niche unique rings that normally aren't worth losing a ring slot for. Like the dmg conversion rings or even an unset ring to mash more skills in.

The new ascendancy doesn’t improve ingenuity at all, because THE EXTRA RING SLOT IS CODED AS AN AMULET SLOT.

They are hard nerfing ingenuity and the fix to make ingenuity have at least one still strong interaction DOESNT EVEN WORK.

BUT HEY ITS OKAY, The .00001% of players using necromantic talisman can give their minions a ring and amulet, cool beans. Obviously not at all how a 3rd ring should be designed but hey, that one player using necromantic talisman will be happy.

The only other take I can see is the core idea that a modifier that makes rings better exists at all, i.e. "INGENUITY IS AWFUL AND I HATE IT SO THIS THING THAT'S A WEAKER INGENUITY FOR ONE CLASS ONLY OFFNDS ME ON A SPIRITUAL LEVEL", offends you on a spiritual level. In which case:

True, but they did say in an interview that you are wearing the third ring on a necklace. Which seems an odd thing to point out if they are not setting it up to be counted as an amulet.

Wait so what? How does this affect 99% playerbases gameplay?
Ingenuity is in like 90%+ builds, 97% of end game.

It’s getting nerfed.

To offset the nerf it would have been cool to get a real 3rd ring slot.

It’s a net loss for the community, content will be much more challenging if ingenuity is still mandatory and nerfed.

My point is if you gonna nerf ingenuity as hard as I’m hearing at least make the 3rd ring slot a ring slot lmfao.

Make choir of the storm jades apply to minions.

Make more niche interactions that make more items more valuable.

If choir of the storm jades applied to minions sekehma rings suddenly matter.

As it stands they’ve gone out of their way to make sure certain interactions don’t happen and in doing so have killed a lot of the fun potential and funneled end game builds into 9/10 people playing a net build they copy pasta if they reach end game.

there are plenty of uniques they could make interact in more meaningful ways.

As it stands necromantic talisman is a joke. It’ll still be a joke even if the ring counts as an amulet to sac to minions.

The way you improve this is by making things interact that don’t currently.

Devs just confirmed that 3rd ring slot works with ingenuity bonus. Ingenuity is still nerfed but you get what you want you can be happy now

Pretty sure they wont bother to tryhard and balance that ascendancy effects and 3rd ring slot will be extra slot that isnt affected by anything, like kalandra touch, ingenuity and so on. It will probably be separate slot that is "immune" to those effects. Chill :)
Ingenuity isn't build defining or essential the way your making out. Sure it's BIS for many builds but it doesn't make or break them.
Many people in HC or SSF reach deep into end game without "BIS" gear like adorned diamond or ingenuity.
It sounds like you're really just mad at Necrotic Talesman not working for your choir of storms lol.
But unless someone digs through your rage they would never pick up on this, maybe write a new thread specifically focusing on that.
