‌[BUG Report] Chapter 2: Traitor's Path Quest - Infinite Loop Preventing Progression

There is a quest bug in the game that prevents me from progressing. In Chapter 2's "Traitor's Path" quest, the mission progress fails to update properly. When I enter the Traitor's Path instance, the quest instructs me to return to town and speak with an NPC. However, upon returning to town, the quest immediately redirects me back to the Traitor's Path instance, creating an infinite loop. This makes normal progression impossible.How can this be resolved? Thank you

You reach Traitor's Passage after confirming that the Halani Gates are closed. Speaking to Risu (Rescued from the Mawdun Mines) and Asala, you discover that there is another means of reaching the top of the Halani Gates through Traitor's Passage. You travel there with the caravan using the Desert Map.


There are two quests involving Traitor's Passage.

Opening the gates is part of the overarching Trail of Corruption quest and is mandatory for progression. By reaching the end of the Traitor's Passage zone, you will find a door to the Halani Gates area. At the end of this next area is your first encounter with a particular boss that is part of the main questline.


The Ascent to Power quest that starts off by telling you to search Traitor's Passage and then return to speak to someone in the Ardura Caravan is optional, but leads you to your Ascendancy Trial at the Trial of the Sekhemas.

When you find and defeat the traitor Balbala in Traitor's Passage (Act 2), you will obtain a quest item Balbala's Barya. After obtaining this item you are told to speak to someone in the caravan. Talking to Zarka will progress the ascendancy questline and open up a new destination on the Desert Map. You can then use the Desert Map to travel to the Trial of the Sekhemas area with the caravan.

I don't recall how the quest text changes when you return to the caravan (it sounds like it flips back to the earlier quest line based on your report), before speaking with Zarka, but you should be able to continue this quest by speaking with her. The quest should tell you to travel to the Trial of the Sekhemas after speaking with Zarka about the trials. You will need the Balbala's Barya item in order to begin your ascendancy trial. When you do this is up to you.



Note: When you return to Traitor's Passage in Act 5, you will be prompted about the same questline again. You cannot complete this quest or your third ascendancy trial in Act 5 and will need to drop a Djinn Barya from an area level 60+ to be eligible to use the barya for your third trial (it will drop randomly from mobs in Act 6 or in maps). You can drop a barya in Act 5, but it would only be suitable for your second ascendancy trial, if you had not completed it already in Act 3.
