What does poe2 do better than any other ARPG??

"What does PoE2 do better than any other ARPG??"

It isn't catered to the casual crowd.

I mean that was literally the intended target audience with all this hype and exposure before launch. If they not catering to casuals then they robbed 80% of original player base.

What hype or exposure led you to believe that?

Its basically who the entire campaign is aimed at. Elden ring is the most casual friendly game because of the slow and deliberate gameplay. Slow and engaging combat is literally a casually gamer experience. Im semi casual and the elden ring like combat is what got me excited for the hype in for this game.

Difficulty like elden ring and the peo2 campaign is literally the casual player magnet. Coming from a pretty casual player.

That's the issue. People come into a game semi-blindly and expect it to be changed into something they are more familiar with. Til this day though, GGG has held off on those kinds of demands. Arguably the biggest of them being on death penalties. I personally don't like the one portal death. Even in campaign, it's complained about having to kill all the monsters again.

Personally, I am not against some things being more casual friendly, but not to the D3/4 levels.
Loose its core and new players.
My point wasn't about what you or I like or don't like in the game. If anything, we both agree it could be a "little" more casual in some aspects. It was this game doesn't cater to the casual better than other arpg's. Whether that's a good thing or bad, isn't really the point, or relative to the topic.

Yeah. Some ppl overlook a specific detail. PoE2 was made to be more accessible for casuals, but not made for casuals.
It's a small difference, but has a huge impact.

Act 1 of POE2 is one of the best things I have ever seen in an ARPG full stop. Sadly in its current state the game falls off from there. Acts 2 and 3 aren't necessarily bad by any means, but the just don't land the same way. Hopefully the remaining campaign picks up and is at least as good as the first act.

As for endgame, it was clearly rushed and haphazardly thrown together and feels like a completely different game than what was hyped for many years.

We will see if they can turn things around before the global launch, but there are too many rough spots right now and a whole lot of missing pieces from the game.

I like Act 1 the most, but I think it mostly has to do with the "atmosphere". For example, a desert-themed Act is less interesting to me than the dark woods and a medieval manor. But Act 3? I think Act 3 would be incredible IF they reduce the size of most areas.
From what I know - Act 4 and 5 look promising to be great, so that's nothing I worry about.

I have the same feeling as you about Act 3, some areas just go on and on forever and it takes away from the fun. Even with the added checkpoints it still feels like a walking simulator at times. You are forced to take movement skills because of it. I think the race exposed this aspect of the game. When everyone is using shield charge to get around the maps there is definitely a design problem.

The checkpoints changed literally nothing for me. I know every single area and map in the game well enough to path directly to what I need without backtracking, BUT if the "pathing" is a slog - it takes away the fun.

It could be that I just dislike procedurally generated stuff. Well, not for maps because we run hundreds and thousands of them, but for the campaign.
