Laptop users
Are there any laptop users who play PoT?
If so, how? I recently got a beta key, but now I have a laptop since my desktop broke down. It seems weird to me. EDIT: Sorry, I was being unclear. I was talking about the mouse specifically, since PoT is a point and click game. EDIT #2: It's called a touchpad. :D Last edited by OhhShet#0000 on Jul 3, 2012, 1:59:01 AM

You must describe what your cpu, ram, igp are.

I'm surprised that there are still people out there who use the touchpad lol! Like you said it's time for you to buy a mouse ^^

" Using the touchpad isn't a problem. Using the touchpad to play most games is the problem. | |
I use a laptop to play PoE.
I use a Razer Naga gaming mouse plugged into it, and a plain old fashioned regular Logitech K120 keyboard plugged into it. 2.0 ghz Core 2 Duo cpu 4 GB ram Intel GMA 4 / Series 4 GPU I know the intergrated graphics isn't the best gpu there is, probably the worst but I got the laptop for a good deal (about $300 with a corporate Dell discount I had at the time) and it was an upgrade compared to my desktop (again at the time). PoE runs fairly decent for me. I have all the graphic options in game turned to the lowest, and I play in windowed mode at 1024x768. In most areas of the game I usually have about 40-50 fps, a slight drop with fighting mobs. The biggest fps drops are when using spells / skills or when mobs use a lot (such as spamming lighting). The only real fps issue is when partying with other players, the amount of spells and such tank the fps however this is a known issue even for people with really great desktop pc's which hopefully GGG will fix in a patch. And keep in mind the game is not fully optimized yet (in laymens terms it hasn't been fine polished to run at it's best yet) since it's beta. The only time I crash the game is after playing for a few hours, since Poe preloads each area you go to to help performance, switching areas / zones a lot causes what appears to be a memory leak (judging from the error messages) but it's not something that's every five minutes. Your mileage will vary depending upon your laptop's specs. |
