I am pretty confused myself. Is this related to the thing where even if you have turned on "show all the items", you don't see outlines for barrels and boulders and such except on mouseover?

Pretty sure they are "attacking you" or whatever you feel like, because your first response to the guy was arrogance and complete dismissal. He was asking a relatively simple question and you were the first response.

You didn't have to end it with "I see no point to your post."

That's the arrogant and dismissive part.

Just because someone wanted some clarification on something you already knew how to do doesn't mean you have to just outright blow the guy off. "I see no point to your post." Is something better left unsaid.

I'm not saying tip toe around people's feelings. But you don't have to be an out-right jerk immediately

Forgive me, this is where I'm gonna get rant-y and tangent-y, feel free to stop reading now.

I've noticed that's the general response to pretty much everything on this forum... Arrogance and dismissal.

I'm brand new and I was going to introduce myself on the forums and see if I could make a few in-game friends to hang out with... But after reading a few pages worth of comments and response on this forum, it's pretty clear most of you aren't worth knowing and would like to keep it that way. Responses to EVERY. LITTLE. THING. are filled with complete disdain, vitriol or arrogance. No matter how harmless or uninformed the person **PLAYING A GAME** might be... This entire community seems determined to drive away anyone new or slightly uneducated when it comes to a video game. Simply because they have the audacity to ask about something on the forums. It's like everyone thinks "They're so stupid they should automatically know the answer, or just use a search engine! They're the idiots for thinking actual social interaction in an MMO would be beneficial."
