Party size limit
Please let us set a smaller party size. Given that some players are looking for max drops and loot, I think smaller parties are a good way to let like minded players together.
I would like to create small parties of 3-4 players. A small party tends to stick together more, tends to go a bit slower, and it's also more enjoyable for me IMHO because I can't see what I'm hitting (>_>) A full party is fun now and then, and depending on the map it can affect the framerate, eg. Fellshrine is ok, but a full party in Dark Forest takes my FPS down to 20-ish... No one is being "left out" if the party size is displayed before joining one, and I think in Open Beta there will be tons of groups anyways. THanks. EDIT: My bad there is another thread here, dated June 6 Public party players limit http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/34671 I'm afraid setting a group private to limit party size is not very intuitive... I think it would be better feedback for others when they join that they know the party leader purposefully chose a smaller party size. Last edited by DeF46#3887 on Jul 1, 2012, 7:32:42 PM

Given that they currently display public parties as "X/6" players, I suspect they agree with your concerns and intend to introduce this functionality.
I have wandered through insanity;
I have walked the spiral out. Heard its twisted dreamed inanity In a whisper, in a shout. In the babbling cacophony The refrains are all the same: "[permutations of humanity] are unworthy of the name!" |

" Btw I reread myself and just wanted to say I didn't mean to imply anything at all about certain play styles or player base, I totally enjoy the full parties in Fellshrine and the mass carnage we dealt yesterday in Weaver's Lair with three Witches and two Marauders =) Just that sometimes I prefer a slow going, more quest based party, and a small party size helps with that. When you have more than 3 people it's not unusual for the group to split up or become disconnected. In a small party I noticed people are more likely to wait for others to come back from town before proceeding... this is what I meant. |
