Targeting and Auto follow
|
This has bugged me and a cousin of mine since we both happen to get into the beta.
The current default color of your ally when you point on him in the field if red so are enemies. I think this would be better server to be green during coop play. I also think that clicking on someone should not make you auto follow! Add a key in there to auto follow. shift + click CTRL + click I dunno something to change the way you target and auto follow as this has lead us to many time to where we have tried to kill eachother in the DarkForest mostly but in the darker Dungeons aswell. Well Shift+click is free attack, as long as you are not in a friendly zone. Ctrl+Click could work, but then again that means power leveling multiple accounts at the same time.

Well I was LUCKY to get into the beta and I am thankfull.
No matter how they solve this issue is ok with me but it IS an issue or I wouldnt have posted about it. There needs to be SOME way to tell friend from foe in the field with out following! |

I am sorry I misread that whole post! My apologies. I agree, yes, friendlies should either be green or blue.
You are right. |

Yes I agree please change friendly targets (players, summoned minions, etc.) to a different color or just make them un-targetable altogether. Maybe something that can be toggled on/off in options. That would be great :D

Also on the topic of auto targeting.
I find that when I target an enemy (lit red) as soon as that person/creature moves, my character just walks past them. It's annoying that they are no longer targeted if they move because targeting is visual thing. They should still be targeted if they are in my field of vision. I notice that they may still be lit red, but my character walks past not up to them with a swing of my weapon, and I constantly have to correct it, of course in doing so, I'm attacked, not ready to defend. My mind is like a hall of mirrors... no place to hang your hat!

I am Vegakinight's wife, we are playing beta together and I have to second his post to make summons untargetable. Especially when you are in a group and there are many summons running around, it is really confusing and we always end up targeting the summoned minions instead of the targets we are trying to kill. Other than that...it is an amazing game so far...will keep on testing beta being in a group, hopefully we can give some more feedback that can be useful in that way.

I hate that I can target friendly players/summons out of town, because it makes fighting with a group a pain. I much preferred the Diablo 2 method of you can't target your allies unless you're using an ability that specifically does as such. Maybe make it some kind of option. At the very least can we make them not red highlighted?
