Ailment chance is missing from all advance skill description
I'm just getting annoyed with the lack of information in game. I get they don't want to support path of building but the fact that skills don't show ailment chance, such as chance to ignite or freeze build up is just unacceptable.
Im using incendiary shot, and it says 100% chance to ignite , and description acts as though all shots ignite. It does not. I don't know how much ignite chance I actually have nor how much I am missing to make it 100% Am I missing? No idea since my accuracy is always 100% within 2m, who know what it is at 4m. The game needs to track and record every stat on a path of building level but at a minimum it needs to tell me my chance to ignite on all skills that are capable. Ignite and shock work differently in PoE2 compared to PoE1. Read the tooltip about ignite and shock again. Many people make that mistake actually. Let me break it down real quick.
The chance to ignite (and shock respectively) is based upon two things: - The damage of the hit. - The enemy elemental ailment threshold. The exact formula that determines the chance to ignite is yet unknown. However, this has several consequences: - The chance to ignite is not a fixed value that can be displayed. - If you deal enough damage your chance to ignite will be 100%. - The modifers you see on the skill tree, gear and on skills are not adding percentage points to the chance to ignite like in PoE1. They are 'increased/more chance to ignite' modifiers. They are multiplying the potentially varying chance to ignite. - There are many ways in PoE2 to scale your chance to ignite that did not work in PoE1, like for instance increased damage, fire penetration, reduced enemy elemental ailment threshhold. Just as an example: Suppose you deal x damage and the elemental ailment threshhold of the enemy is y which results in a chance to ignite of p. Suppose you have the modifiers '30% increased chance to ingite' from the skill tree and '100% more chance to ignite enemies' from incendiary shot [1]. Then your ignite chance is p*(1+30/100)*(1+100/100)=2.6*p. Anyway this chance still depends on the damage of the hit you deal and the ailment threshhold of the enemy and thus varies and can not be displayed as a tooltip.
