Trial of Sekhemas crash entering first boss room

I have had 0 issues running this prior to the most recent patch. Now, as soon as I start to walk into the first floor boss in trial of sekhemas the game hard crashes to desktop without any sort of error message. I've tried various graphics settings, did not help. Pretty much crashes the instant I'm crossing the bridge and the boss is about to appear on the screen.

Same thing has started happening to me, since 0.1.1.
I don't get to cross the bridge or spawn the boss. As soon as I start walking a bit from the entrance of the room, the game starts to stutter, and after two seconds the game crashes.

I have an update. I had the game through steam, and i performed an integrity check. after completion, steam reported: 2 files failed to validate and will be reacquired."

Afterwards the issue was gone. Hope this helps.

^ Crazy, actually fixed my issue. Thank you for following up, would have never even considered doing a steam validation to fix something like this.
