Trials soft lock on Death in couch co-op.

The trials soft lock when failing a trial. Playing couch co-op.
The first controller becomes unresponsive. So there is no way to LT+up and the second player is not allowed to do this, the action is grey.

This forces the second player to open the menu and quit to character selection.

I am running the game on steam with a steam link. I don't know if this has anything to do with it but might be useful information.
