Death penalties.
I will lay it out to GGG in case they read this. You guys are NEVER going to be able to balance this game so that every encounter is fair and balanced without completely trivializing combat entirely. Far simpler games have failed to do this, and I have no faith that POE 2 is the exception here. Please get that into your head as soon as possible.
I'm not saying you guys are dumb but the focus right now on the extreme harsh death penalties IS the hill that this game will die on in future. It's not just about the players here. The sooner you let this design philosophy go and move on, the more time you will have to make the game better in aspects that actually matter and make the game more fun. Imagine if you guys had thought through and implemented multiple portals for bosses right from the onset. Not only would you have far less people focusing and complaining on these aspects, but you would also have saved the dev time that you need to invest now. Last bumped on Jan 19, 2025, 3:22:07 AM

" Hahahaha EXTREME HARSH DEATH PENALTIES. Man when you say that I'd expect my PC to explode, get a perma-ban and a SWAT team blasting my doors open. Having to use one more waystone and get reduced a few monster kills worth of XP because you play poorly is absolutely fine and deserved. This mechanism keeps you where you belong skill-wise. It's absolutely fine and is a part of most of today's games. Don't like it? There are games like Cookie Clicker where there is no punishment for using no brain. Just keeps rolling forward. Play the game you like, man. |

I tend to flip flop on this, and I'm not really sure why.
Sometimes I feel like i enjoy the challenge and risk/reward, but the other times I get one-shot from a mob. I usually find myself playing at night until i get killed, then i close the game and do something else. It feels... unrewarding. I hope they can work out how to balance the game so i can run at least t15s. I've got pretty great gear, and am currently lvl86. |
