Skill gem system: gemcutting, skills panel and search

Let me walk through the small annoyance I've faced with PoE2's skill gem system:

1) Many skill gems in use with many different support gems
2) Look up some builds online
3) See that some support gem should be used with a specific skill gem and not some other
4) Try to use a uncut support gem to make that specific support gem
5) Gemcutting window (support gems) tells me I can't make the support gem because "Your character is already using this support gem" , but it doesn't tell me which skill gem is using it!. This tooltip window should tell me which skill gem is using this support gem already:

4) Open up skills panel and have to go through all support gems on all skills to find the support gem that's in use. Therefore the skills panel should have a search field that would highlight skill or support gems in the same way it highlights nodes in the passive skill tree.
