Tower Maps

Tower maps still feel bad running even if we got more variety. The real solution for tower to be fun would have tower bosses, tower should always has a boss in the end in some arena before the end where you turn it on.

I had some "fun" [compared to old towers] in the MESA tower map. As long as towers don't have anything else interesting going on they won't be nearly as fun as other maps but Mesa wasn't the same waste / drudgery as the old towers were.
The old tower maps had annoying tunnels and vision blocking. So people dumped low tier maps in it for safety and speed only to find out that was always the correct way to do tower maps. New maps look cool but still have no reason for existing other than to make you walk to a button.

New maps will eventually become drudgery to those who are enjoying them now for the same underlying reason as the old one.
my solutions to help towers to be fun and rewarded.
the upper map use in it give more bonus to the tablet.
You can add a system when you use a map than the good affix on the map will be add to the tower (with less power like 50% or 25%) in order people will feel tower are more good to do to juice map.
Or more rare and magic monsters in tower.
Tower have to feel good to do and not something to speed up at a lower tier
Some tower maps drop is just pathetic.
For example screen with loot from Sinking Spire tower map, with T15 waystone with 6 modifiers and added 3x Destilled Paranoia for +45% more rare mob (juicing cost around 15ex): 2 x Simulacrum Splinter and 1 Iron Rune.
Seriously?

I agree that the tower maps still feel annoying and worthless, but this would not solve it for me.
For me the problem is that they took sextants from poe1 and made them worse and more tedious.

One of my biggest problems with mapping is the amount of setup needed before you can start investing in your maps. And that is because of the towers and the atlas.
1. Path to all towers that have overlapping tablets.
2. Run or deplete maps that you don't like so that all maps in range can get the desired league mechanic.
3. Then you are left with like 5-9 maps or something similar, where you have one death and all the time spent is thrown out the window.

I think mapping would feel better without towers, or if we have to keep them only make the first tower mandatory to run to unlock the mechanic. Then you just have to click them once to put in a tablet.
