What is the point of having 6 portals if we are only allowed to die once?

Six portals to sell what you collect to a vendor.
One life to prevent players from running around like headless chickens.

Also adding to this while running maps people might whisper to purchase an item from you and therefore need to go back to hideout to sell the item and then coming back to previous map again.

If you die often, it's because your build is bad: don't blame the game.

Majority of players using archmage or heralds. Don't start this bs about bad build when game is basically enjoyable only by using broken things. Poe1 gave you ability to experiment, even if your build was worse than meta, you could still run maps due to multiple lives.
Here you can't.

Warrior here stop making excuses.

I'm learning English on my own and I'm not sure I understand what "bs" means, but I think there's a certain hypocrisy on the part of players who choose inefficient builds.
It's like playing Damiano's defence in chess and complaining that Petrov gives better results.
When you knowingly choose an experimental build, you have to accept the consequences.

No, the game is bad. Have you seen how many people leave the game after the campaign in POE 1 ? The same thing is happening here. They shouldn't design a game in order to lose 95% of players in end game.
