Suggestion for minion AI/collision bug workaround - Respawn button
I think this is well known by now. Currently, minions constantly get stuck and then do nothing until they respawn, which causes a lot of problems. This is especially bad in maps with many rooms and narrow corridors. Such as Mire, Vaal Factory/Forge, etc.
I understand that the next patch will mitigate this by making out of range minions respawn immediately. That definitely helps, but I believe that this not enough. The reason I say this is because there will still be many instances where you go to the next room and the minions get stuck, but they are still too near to respawn. And they cannot attack because they are somehow blocked or too far too attack. So they will just stand there and do nothing while you solo the room. As you can imagine, that can be a bad thing for a witch. Therefore, as a temporary workaround until the AI is fixed, can I suggest that we provide a button, a skill button for example, to respawn minions? Where we can click it to instantly respawn the minions around your character? Or another possibility is to click one time to unspawn. Click a second time to respawn. Is that a plausible workaround? I don't know what the best permanent solution is, but I imagine this temporary workaround is at least an acceptable compromise until the AI/collision issues are resolved. Anyways we dont need a respawn button we need fixed pathfinding etc. |

" Lol, yes I agree we need to fix pathfinding as a priority. But from the interview earlier this week, that seems like a long way from now. As a temporary solution, giving a respawn button to auto respawn minions around the character would help a lot. At least until pathfinding is fixed. |

Or implement convocation skill in PEO 2 too. Seems like the simplest and most lazy workaround the issue but i'm certain most of minion players would still be happy with it.

" I haven't really played POE1 so I'm not sure what that is, but it sounds similar to what I am describing + it gives life regen to minions. You are right. I think most minion players would be happy with this even if only as a temporary workaround until they fix the pathfinding issues. |

" OK, so I finally logged in and tried it in game. It's a similar thing as those using the weapon set to rotate right? Thank you, _N0ctus_#6387! I didn't know that works! It's not perfect. You despawn most of the skeletons, but not all of them (those might still get stuck), and you gotta use a second button to regain the the weapons since it works by unequipping them. I think having only one skill button that respawns all of them instantly and not losing equipped weapons would be a better option. Having said that though, beggars can't be choosers. I don't have to set up anything and it kinda works right now. I'll take whatever I can get. Thank you again for the tip. I at least have something I can do while waiting for a respawn button or a permanent pathfinding fix. |
