Multiplayer

My wife and I tend to play together in a party, just the two of us. We are loving the game, but it feels like we are penalized for playing in a two-person group, as opposed to single-player or a larger group.

It seems to be that the scaling on multiplayer is geared towards 4 or more players, even when there are only two in the party. This could, of course, be user error because we are fairly new, but both of us individually tend to do significantly more damage, and bosses/rares tend to die much more quickly in single player. We like difficulty, but it seems that the enemies are just way more tanky in a way that is disproportionate.

There is also the fairly well documented issue of bumping into each other and blocking each other's paths. I know the team is working on it, so I won't dwell on that.

One other thing that makes things tough is shared corpses and loot. We are able to divide loot between each other, but it feels like the monsters drop the same amount of loot for us to share as we would each get individually playing by ourselves (so effectively half the loot, even with the higher difficulty). It also seems that the effect of increased rarity is much less in multiplayer, maybe because the game is looking at both of us? We are also now both playing as Witch, and we both share the corpses on the ground, which makes it difficult to fully use builds that rely on corpses.

Loving the game, and still playing it a lot. Minor issues overall, but it does seem like multiplayer interactions could use a little bit of attention.

Thanks to the dev team for all the hard work and attention, and looking forward to what is coming in the future!

Edit: This is online co-op, not couch co-op.
