poe 2 makes me appreciate how good poe 1 was

Diablo 2 came out in a time where you had to buy a magazine to read the latest tips. Can't compare it to these days where everyone is connected worldwide and can share information with anyone.
With the exception of skills, sockets, and flasks, PoE1 is less stressful.

PoE2 is SUPPOSED to be 'easier' to onboard new players or the casuals. Not sure it ever will be, given how GGG doesn't seem to care about making the new game actually less punishing, because PoE's player base is too small to sustain them as a company.

If you take Maps out of the equation, since we know that part of the game is extremely undercooked, would you say that PoE2 Act 1 is easier for a new player to understand the basic game mechanics vs PoE1? Personally, I would say they've done a pretty good job here, but I do think they need to explain Crafting a bit more, and it might be a good idea to have a small one-time tutorial thing (can be turned back on in the Options) that goes over the Character Sheet (defenses, resistances, etc).

Also, one thing to note is that there is a difference between making a game easier for players to get into (ie: onboarding) vs making the game easier overall.

What boggles my mind is how some people (not directed at anyone in particular) expect a game that is barely into Beta (I'd still call it in Alpha), that's missing well over 50% of the content, to be as robust and balanced as an 11 year old game with countless updates. Of course PoE1 v.3.25 is going to be a better game than PoE2 v.0.1.0. Why would anyone think otherwise? :)
