! (not) regex operator not working while cutting gems

using the ! (not) operator should exclude the following string from the search, but as you can see it doesnt work while cutting gems. the normal search works just fine, but the operator itself just kinda invalidates the entire search term? | (or) works just fine though. My guess would be an issue with input sanitization.
