Why do we need a league reset to get new content

In the Q&A they mentioned that the new content will come with a new league. If the content is 90% done already why not just drip feed it into this economy? I don't want to refarm all my gear just to test a new char. Id much rather they release it into this economy and let me play my new character with the wealth/gear i already have.

Because they will significantly nerf a bunch of builds and don't want people to play with bricked builds.

Hope the no lifers who played 350+h in the first early access league and ruined the economy will not do the same to the next early access league we will get.

So they can test what players league start is like with the new content- rather than testing how players powerlevel an alt in a day.

Oh they will 100% and its going to be 10 times faster this time around because the game is figured out, builds are going to be faster opimized and farming strats are going to be planned before.

Thats not how they operate. Big changes are always introduced via new league and then it folds into the standard mode once the league ends. If you don't want to relevel then wait 3-4 months for the league to end then you can play

With new leagues comes new content and new whales to provoke interest and spending in the points shop.

Every new league is like a mini relaunch and it's now their basis for payment.

For players, it's like starting fresh. And if you get in early enough, you get to experience buying items before the bots cause them to balloon like happens in literally every league. Some items come down after the market's flooded, though it's only at the very beginning of the league you truly have a hope to participate in the economy on even footing.

It is also good for those in standard because they typically get some form of the league content once it's finished, without having to start over every 3-6 months.

PoE2's early access being 6 months to a year and being a legacy league from the get-go is a new approach though. We all have to start from scratch if we want to move into the new standard in 5-11 months from now after Descendants League.
